Important information about Digitoll from September 15, 2026
From 15 September 2026, new statutory requirements for digital reporting of transport and goods information upon import into Norway will be introduced. The requirements apply to all actors involved in the movement of goods across the Norwegian border.
The transition to Digitoll involves extensive changes in how information is reported and processed before crossing the border. Therefore, delays in the flow of goods to Norway must be expected during the introduction period.
Delays can occur at several points in the transport chain. Capacity challenges, technical conditions or inadequate and delayed information from one actor can affect traffic and customs flows, and thus also transports that are initially handled correctly.
Nord Norsk Spedisjon has prepared our organization, systems and processes for the transition, and we will monitor the situation closely. We will do our utmost to limit the consequences for our customers and handle any challenges on an ongoing basis.
Advance notification of vehicle and driver information
One of the requirements in Digitoll is that all vehicles crossing the border into Norway must be pre-registered. This means that the vehicle registration number, as well as necessary information about the driver, must be registered and reported before the border crossing can take place.
To ensure the most efficient border crossing possible, it is therefore crucial that correct information about the vehicle and driver is available well in advance of arrival at the border.
App for easier border crossing management
To make the process easier, Nord Norsk Spedisjon has developed its own app solution that gives drivers the ability to adjust and update their expected border crossing time. This contributes to more accurate reporting, better flow in transports and reduces the risk of delays related to changed arrival times.
